On 31th March, Lucy Gill-Simmen of Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL) made an amazing report on the topic of“Best Practices in Teaching & Learning: A Relational Approach” to the students and teachers of NUAA. The activity was hosted by Hengzhen Lu, Associate Professor of NUAA. Ling Xiao, Associate Professor of RHUL and more than 30 young scholars of NUAA attended the activity online.
The report mainly focused on teaching methods. Lucy emphasized that the student plays the key role during the teaching process. And she introduced innovative and diverse approaches to assessment and feedback with some practical examples of authentic assessment design and ideas for embedding feedback in to course delivery. During the Q&A time, young scholars of NUAA share their ideas and questions with Lucy, and Lucy gave useful suggestions to them.
RHUL is one of the most important strategic cooperative partners of CEM, NUAA. This lecture was one of the series of the promotion program of NUAA-RHUL Global Strategic Partnership. It is of great significance for young scholars to learn advanced teaching methods, as well as to encourage potential cooperation and deepen the relationship between us.
Brief introduction of Lucy Gill-Simmen:
Dr. Lucy Gill-Simmen is Director of Education Strategy and Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Royal Holloway, University of London. She holds both a MBA and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Imperial College Business School, London. Her areas of expertise are in marketing strategy (in theory and in practice), global marketing strategy, consumer brand relationships and internal branding. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. In addition, she has worked on some major consulting projects in the Middle East and the USA where she was instrumental in identifying the internal branding strategies for companies such as 3M (USA) and Al Tayer Group (Dubai, UAE).
